California CCW Renewal Class 8-Hour (Location: Laguna Shooting Center, Elk Grove)
CCW RENEWAL CLASS (now 8 hours due to SB2) (Seat availability changes frequently due to moves and classroom changes)
This 8-hour CCW Renewal Class is for California Residents of Sacramento, San Joaquin, Placer, Yolo, Contra Costa Counties and Cities of West Sacramento, Winters, Woodland, Pittsburg, and Ripon.
Location: Laguna Shooting Center, 2220 Kausen Dr, Elk Grove
NOTE:
Online Registration is REQUIRED. Sacramento County, Placer County and most others allow you to take the class up to 90 days before permit expiration; however, you cannot start your online renewal application sooner than 45 days before expiration (Yolo is 30 days.)

- Firearms Safety Review
- Range - live fire - shooting qualification
- CCW renewal application - Forms, weapon checks and verification
- Defensive focused shooting
- Drawing from Concealment - in class review
- Mental Health discussion
- Legal Overview - use of Deadly Force, Scenario Review, discussion
- Legal Update - Right to self defense, penal codes, safe storage, transportation, New California requirements, sensitive places, etc
- Go/No Go review/update
- Written Test
- Utah (non-resident) CCW optionally available following class for an additional $50

Students Must Bring:
- Current CCW Permit
- Eye and Ear Protection
- All firearms that will be listed on the CCW permit for range qualification (currently this is limited to three handguns in Sacramento, San Joaquin, Placer, Yolo Counties and the Cities of West Sacramento and Woodland; Ripon and Winters are limited to five handguns; Contra Costa County is limited to two handguns)
- All ammunition required for qualification - 35 rounds per handgun
- Magazines/speed loaders - Two magazines per gun and one speed loader/strip per revolver
- One concealment holster currently used for one of your guns
Other Course Information
Location: Laguna Shooting Center, 2220 Kausen Dr, Elk Grove
- Minimum Age Requirement: 21 years or older
- No open toed shoes on range
- No loaded guns in the classroom - all guns must be checked by staff before entering classroom. If you are carrying when you enter the store, let staff know that you need to unload and they'll take you on the range to perform the clearing of your firearm.
- Recommend no loose or low cut blouses or shirts while shooting
