California 16-Hour Initial CCW Course – 2-Day Class at Laguna Shooting Center
CALIFORNIA 16-HOUR INITIAL CCW 2-DAY COURSE
Location: Laguna Shooting Center, 2220 Kausen Dr, Elk GroveThe California Initial CCW 16-hour 2-Day Course is required for new CCW permit applicants in Sacramento County, Yolo County, Placer County, Contra Costa County, and the cities of West Sacramento, Winters, Woodland, and Pittsburg. Non-residents who have applied with one of these counties may take this course in-person.
This comprehensive course meets all current California DOJ and SB2 requirements, including firearms safety, legal use of force, mental health awareness, and live-fire qualification.

Materials Provided:

Students Must Bring:
- Eye and Ear Protection
- All firearms that will be listed on the CCW permit for range qualification (currently this is limited to three handguns for most counties)
- Ammunition required for qualification - 35 rounds per gun
- Magazines / Speed Loaders - two magazines per semi-auto and one speed loader/strip per revolver (out-of-state students should not bring magazines with a capacity greater than 10 rounds into the state of California)
- Additional ammunition and range fee on the first day if you wish to practice prior to qualification on the second day.
Additional Course Information:
- Minimum Age Requirement: 21 years or older
- No open toed shoes on range
- No loaded guns in the classroom
- Recommend no loose or low cut blouses or shirts while shooting
All training is conducted by Preston Rusch or Leo O’Halloran — California CCW DOJ Certified Instructors (#071 and #585) with over 22 years experience serving the Sacramento area.

| Requirements: | Must be 21 years of age. Note: Range Practice on the first day is at the student's expense if you want to practice after class. Course of Fire: This will be the Sacramento County COF for all participants which requires 35 rounds per gun unless the issuing agency requires a more difficult minimum COF. All qualification stages are timed fire and you will need two magazines per semi-auto gun and a speed loader or speed strips for each revolver. |
